Emily trained on the Theatre Directing MFA at Birkbeck and as a Young Director at the Royal Exchange Theatre.

Directing credits include: A Shanty for an Atomic Town (Workshop, Obscura Theatre); soundlandscape: All the Boggles of Derwentwater (Obscura Theatre/Theatre by the Lake); ÉRAINN (ICMT); How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Care UK); Rascal (Workshop, Royal Exchange Theatre); The Luck of Edenhall (Audio, Theatre by the Lake); Not Something That Other People Do (Short Film, Curve Online); Little Shop of Horrors and The Best Play Ever (Delicious Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe); Private Lives and Psychosis (John Thaw Theatre); Into the Woods (Footlights Theatre) and Guys and Dolls (University of Manchester).
